The purpose of this study presented below is double. On one hand the objective is to examine if there is a correlation between contextual variables, intention of learning (expectations) and learning strategies. On the other hand, the objective is to study the motivational profile of students in the subject of English.
To this end has been taken a sample of 47 students of 2º and 4º ESO the College Villa Fatima de Burriana (Castellón). Tools used for data collection have been questionnaires extracted from the Model of Quality of Educational Situation (Domenech 2013), and three people (a teacher and two students of this subject) with which to conduct the survey.
The results were analyzed with the program SSPS Statistics with which the calculation of descriptive statistics for mean and standard deviation of each factor and the coefficient of reliability of internal consistency with Cronbach's alpha, bivariate correlations were calculated by Pearson and bar charts of the motivational variables of positioning and learning strategies have been calculated.
The results relating to the first objective, consider if there is a relationship between the contextual variables, intent to learn (expectations) and learning strategies, can’t forecast as hypotheses raised in a significant association between the variables studied. Finding only a significant association between contextual variables and expectations (H1).
In accordance with the second objective to analyze the motivational profile of the students, we can say that the motivational profiles that show the subject is quite high.
This research puts at the service of the faculty analysis of the main variables that influence the learning and offers powerful tools, guidance in their teaching. [-]
