La recuperación es un término en auge y cada vez más presente en la Salud
Mental mundial. Es un término que proclama un modelo de atención hacia los y las
usuarios/as con trastorno mental grave (TMG) centrado en la persona, en sus
capacidades y en sus necesidades, permitiéndoles un papel más activo en su proceso de
tratamiento integral y de evolución personal. Este “nuevo paradigma” se introduce y
dialoga con el modelo biomédico cuestionando su mirada reduccionista. A su vez y
paralelamente, aparecen más voces de usuarios en primera persona que demandan una
mejor atención, no médica, sino humana, un trato más digno, un aumento del valor de la
persona centrada en la defensa de sus derechos y en el apoyo mutuo. Este trabajo
pretende acercar la mirada de un grupo de usuarios/as, todos TMG, que forman parte de
una asociación de ocio de la ciudad de Murcia, Asociación ECOS, sobre el concepto de
recuperación y poder recoger sus vivencias, experiencias y conocimientos, teniendo en
cuenta que este término, recuperación, todavía genera confusión en cuanto a la función
que tiene para los que queremos ayudar y los que quieren ser ayudados. ¿Se parecerá en
algo lo que viven los usuarios/as con lo que creemos que hacemos los profesionales? [-]
