Our study aims to show the vilification and defamation suffered by the female genre from Late Antiquity to the Modern Age through the consultation of literary sources, moralizing, mythological and poetic. On the other hand, we have tried to exemplify this disapproval with the exhibition of a series of paintings and engravings from the same period, thus forming a symbiosis between Literature and the History of Art that provide us with a profuse information to understand and internalize the mockery to which the Woman was subjected in past centuries.
