The Gypsie School is a place that believes peace education is the key to unlocking doors
of potential across various plains. With the strong conviction that one’s beginnings does not
dictate where one can go throughout life; and that access to an education, safe spaces and
support can drastically enhance one’s trajectory by providing options. Gypsie, which stands for:
Global Youth Project: Supporting & Inspiring Education, fosters the ideals of Empowerment,
Dedication, Empathy, Integrity and Consciousness daily. Ideally, the student body is made up of
a mix of intercultural students from low- socioeconomic households in need. The Gypsie School
is not just a place of learning, but a safe haven for at-risk youth who are struggling in
mainstream systems and/ or impoverished communities. Throughout the programs available
there are alternative approaches utilized from an interdisciplinary and holistic pedagogy to
develop well-being with a whole-person approach in order to set students up for future success
within the global community. This Master’s Project will lay out the potential of opening such a
school and how the proposal can be made into an action plan with “sister- school”
collaborators worldwide, including a sample curriculum. [-]
