This project comprises the development of a 2D game for the Windows platform,
centered around the puzzles and exploration genres. The game is called Beneath and it
follows the adventures of a girl called Mint, in her adventure to explore a strange place,
where a lot of creatures lie that she will have to interact with.
The game belongs to the platform genre, mixed with a puzzle component. In this case,
the puzzles are not mechanical, like the ones on Tetris, Candy Crush or similar games,
but more conceptual; they are riddles the player has to solve. There are clues the player
has to interpret in order to know what to do next, such as hints to find a monster that is
hidden, for example.
The player moves around in a cave, exploring the place, findingt items and monsters,
with the goal of getting out of the cave, which is initially blocked.
This game will be developed in its entirety, starting from the initial phase of concept and
mechanics design (character actions, usable items, artificial intelligence of the creatures,
etc), following with the subsequent implementation. The creation of the artistic
resources is also part of this project. [-]
