This project presents a new way to approach game development in videogames that focus on player’s
freedom within a deÖned world. By using applied ontology, videogames can present much more
interesting situations in both quality and quantity that enrich emergent narrative. The project consist in
the design and implementation of an ontology in the game engine Unreal Engine 4 in C++ in the context
of the videogame concept test Out of the Cave, an action fantasy sandbox where the player takes the
role of a mighty troll that searches his place in a violent world. [-]
