In this unit, you'll learn the basic steps to write an effective application letter, which relevant information to include, and how to organise this information. You'll also learn specific vocabulary and expressions you should use in your cover letters. An example of a cover letter is presented and analysed. The three main types of ALs are revised: Applying for a job, scholarship application and request letter.
Finally, you'll have to successfully fulfil a series of activities dealing with application letters. First, an empty template to fill in the gaps, and organise the letter sections. Then, in the second activity you'll work on the lexical items and specific terminology. You can self-correct your activities by having a look at the KEYS given. [-]
