In 1780 the Cano d’Alginet, an underground siphon located in the said village, was built. For centuries, it stood as one of the major works of the Valencian civil heritage together with an older construction, that of the Alèdua irrigation canal. At the time, the construction of the siphon required an investment of 80000 reals, an amount similar to what the construction of an aqueduct would have meant, which, indeed, was another argument for the construction of the said siphon. The works started in February and ended in November of the very same year. [-]
