Nowadays the education paradigms have already changed due to the development of the
new technologies. Consequently, the ICT has brought new methodologies to be
implemented in our educative system. The key of these methodologies is learning
autonomously, developing the learning process without depending on the teacher.
This paper is based on the implementation of Fakebook, an online tool which can be
used for educative purposes to create profiles based on celebrities. The main goal of the
implementation is to improve the students ‘writing skills. The students, who practised
with this tool, are in their first year of Bachillerato. As it has been commented before,
the activity has been implemented in class developing the student’s autonomous work.
After the whole experience, it can be observed how new technologies motivate the
students. Moreover, Fakebook allows the students to be immersed in a tool, which is
similar to the current social networks they use in their daily lives. For that reason it
develops their motivation and their autonomous learning. [-]
