The purpose of this research is to investigate acquisition of English vocabulary analysing the
benefits exerted by video games in English at the present time. Video games can be
considered an additional tool in order to improve our competence and progression learning a
specific language. Consequently, the study reveals that this procedure may be possible
because after observing and analysing the tutorial stages of three different video games since
the people who play them enjoy the time they spend playing. Due to all the input they are
exposed to they acquire knowledge from them. Subsequently, their good and positive attitude
boosts the acquisition of English vocabulary. Thus, this paper shows that the use of video
games could be achievable in the classroom since it is been applied already by other
institutions with beneficial results. [-]
