La Naturaleza en Educación Infantil vista desde la perspectiva docente

Abstract

En el presente estudio hemos afrontado la problemática de “Conocer el valor que los docentes de infantil otorgan a la naturaleza” y para ello, hemos diseñado una serie de cuestiones que se les han ido realizando a los docentes de distintos centros de Castellón y uno de Huelva en forma de entrevistas. A partir de sus respuestas, se ha podido describir la realidad de los docentes en relación a la naturaleza y ha sido posible averiguar sus opiniones respecto al trabajo conjunto en la escuela, sobre los recursos de que disponen, respecto a la naturaleza en sus vidas, sobre cómo afecta el trabajar la naturaleza con el alumnado y respecto al aprendizaje del mundo natural de manera globalizada. Finalmente, los resultados obtenidos han sido que la gran mayoría de los docentes le otorga gran relevancia al ámbito natural, ya sea a nivel de centro como a nivel de aula y personal. Por ello, trabajan de manera coordinada dándole importancia al aprendizaje experimental, puesto que cuentan con recursos (tecnológicos y reales) y son conscientes de que esta metodología repercute positivamente en los niños, aunque no siempre es posible utilizarlos. Es por esto por lo que concluimos que a pesar de los esfuerzos invertidos en conservar los recursos naturales de nuestro planeta, no hemos podido detener el desgaste ambiental, a causa de, probablemente, no conseguir crear conciencia y respeto por la naturaleza. Enseñar valores ambientales desde las primeras edades genera cambios de visión y de apreciación de la naturaleza en los más pequeños, por eso la labor de la escuela y en especial la de los docentes tiene un papel tan importante en la sociedad.

In this study, we have faced the problem of "Knowing the value that teachers of kindergarten grant to nature" and, so as to do it, we have designed a set of questions which have been asked to several teachers from different schools from Castellón and one from Huelva in an interview way. From their responses, it has been possible both to describe the reality of teachers in relation to nature and to ascertain their views about the team work at school, the available resources, the nature in their lives, how making activities related to nature affects students and regarding to learning about the natural world in a globalized way. Finally, the obtained results have shown that the vast majority of teachers attaches great relevance to the natural environment, both at school level and at the classroom and staff level. Therefore, they work in coordination giving importance to experimental learning, since they have resources (technological and real ones) and they are aware that this approach has a positive effect on children, although it is not always possible to apply it. That is the reason why we conclude that, despite the efforts invested in preserving the natural resources of our planet, we have not been able to stop the environmental deterioration, due to, probably, the fact that we have not promoted awareness and respect for nature. Teaching environmental values from the first ages generates changes on vision and appreciation of nature in children. Consequently, the role of the school and, specially, the teachers work has such a remarkable role in society.
