Third Language Acquisition (TLA) is considered to be a new area of research that has got the attention of many scholars (Cenoz, 2001; De Angelis, 2007, among others). There has been plenty of discrepancies regarding this field since some consider that it is not an area of study. The aim of this paper is first to review some researches and theories about the effect of being Bilingual when dealing with English as a Third Language (TL) and, second, to know if bilingualism affects the acquisition of English as a Third Language. Moreover, Cross- Linguistic Influence (CLI) has also been regarded as an important factor in TLA. This research focuses on three main factors of CLI: Language Distance, the influence of the level of Proficiency and the order of acquisitionca_CA
