It is a well-known fact that nowadays a high amount of intelligence tests exist, the aim of the present study is to assess which of a series of drawing tests can be used as an approximate standard intelligence test to determine children intellect.
For that purpose, 12 3-years old children from the public school Cervantes in Vila-real had been selected to carry out a series of tests 1) Goodenough-Harris’ draw-a-person test 2) Information and Cubes WPPSI-III subtests. From the results of these experiments, we have been able to determine which of the four parameters in the Goodenough-Harris draw-a-person test (draw-a-man, draw-a-woman, average and draw-himself) is more related with the results of a standard intelligence test such as the WPPSI-III test. In addition, to identify any child with possible spatial orientation problems, we have conducted Hilda Santucci’s Perceptual Organization Test in children from 4 to 6 years, as a control.
After analysing the results of the children with best scores in the intelligence test we have been able to determine that the drawing of a woman and the drawing of himfelf are the best parameters to assess children intelligence according to the results in the WPPSI-III test. [-]
