Hybrid halide perovskites have emerged as an appropriated active material in light emitting diodes (LEDs), mainly due to their high quantum photoluminescence yield and ambipolarity. In this context, our group have recently reported bright visible-infrared LEDs using perovkite CH3NH3PbI3 as emitting material. With the aim to continue our work in this field, we present herein the study of several synthetic approaches in order to prepare optimal photoluminescent CH3NH3PbI3 films, such as the use of single step and sequential procedures, different reagent precursors, molar ratios between reagents, time of thermal treatment and film thickness. Different characterization techniques, including opto-electronic measurement, scanning electron microscopy and x-ray diffraction have been employed. Finally, perovkite-based LEDs have been prepared and their external quantum efficiency compared to those results reported by our group. [-]
