La influencia de las primeras psicólogas norteamericanas en la historia de la psicologia

Abstract

En este trabajo analizamos el impacto de las primeras psicólogas norteamericanas con el objetivo de estudiar su influencia en la psicología del siglo XX y recuperar su obra. Para ello, del libro American Men of Science, de Cattell, de 1906, hemos seleccionado ocho pioneras mujeres psicólogas. Y valiéndonos de una metodología bibliométrica hemos examinado la información del Social Sciences Citation Index, (SSCI), desde 1900 hasta 1999. Los resultados indican que ellas han recibido un alto número de citas a lo largo del tiempo. Los temas en que las obras de las primeras mujeres aparecen explícitamente tratadas están fundamentalmente relacionados con la percepción, psicología infantil, historia de la psicología y lenguaje. Mientras que las revistas pertenecen al ámbito de la percepción, psicología general, historia y psicología infantil. En conclusión, el análisis de citas indica la presencia de sus obras en la psicología del siglo XX, ellas han realizado una importante contribución al campo.

In this paper we analyze the impact of the first North American psychologists. We aim of this is to study their influence in the psychology of 20th century and recover their work. For this purpose, we have selected eight pioneer women psychologists of American men of science’s book, by Cattell, in 1906. And by means of a bibliometric methodology we have examined the information of the Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI), from 1900 until 1999. We results indicate they have received a high number of citations along the years. We topics work by first women have explicitly show for this first time whose are where women are been fundamentally related with perception, children psychology, history of psychology and Language. While journals belong to perception, general psychology, history and children psychology fields. In conclusion, the analysis of citations indicated the presence of their works in the psychology of the 20th century. They have realised an important contribution to this field.
