Environmental conflicts in South Korea: political ecological study

Abstract

Environmental conflicts have emerged as key issues throughout the world. The complex interactions and relationships between the environment and people are further shaped by politics and economy. Political ecology provides profound insight into the complexities of environmental conflicts in which apolitical approaches may overlook. This thesis examines three cases of environmental conflicts in South Korea within the theoretical framework of political ecology.
