In 57 c. A.D. St. Paul writes in his Epistle to the Romans, the
desire to come to Spain (15. 24), and mentioning for the first
once the attempt to spread Christianity in the western area
of the Roman Empire (15. 29). The most important news of
Christians in the area of Tarraconensis know them by Irenaeus
in his Aduersus haereticos and confirmed by Tertullian in his
Aduersus Iudaeos, few years later. We know that after the
riots and persecution of Christians in Scillium (Carthage),
a lot of Christians moved to Spain (areas of Tarraconensis and Baetica). We know from the Breviary of the Diocese of
Barcelona, about Cucufate and Felix, who spread Christianity
throughout the Mediterranean area of Spain. [-]
