This paper reports on the results of an innovative study about a social networking tool
and its influence on the English language. The exploratory study, framed within a
conventional collection data approach compiled through Whatsapp analysis can have a
serious impact on the English language. The paper comes to the conclusion that written
communication characteristics and features play an essential role to create a new way of
communication, a different jargon. That emergent form of chatting represents a great
contribution to the development of the English language.
The idea of working in that field is to show data collection to help to discover the
study of new ways of communication. So far, they used to be analysing starting from other
modalities that are better known (writing and orality), what it is predisposed to prejudices and
considering their peculiarities as deviations. A clear example of that is the most extensive
description that implies the idea of "written orality", which is clearly a contradiction in their
own terms. [-]
