In a context that new political parties have knocked down the two-party system appeared an electoral campaign for the municipal and regional elections in that the mass media had a fundamental role. This research has the aim to do research into the media presence of one of the emerging party, Podemos, during this period. It has been analyzed the TVE, La Sexta and Telecinco television newscasts as a representative of the public model and two of the big media private conglomerates in Spain. Methodology is based on content analysis, qualitative and quantitative, and the sample that has been studied is composed by more than 70 television newscasts during the 15 days of electoral campaign. The results prove that doesn`t exist a generalized trend because every TV channel has followed their own methods. Every television newscast has given their priority according to different logics. For example, it contrasts the high rate of relevance in La Sexta in contrast to TVE. Furthermore, the dialectic conflict has been promoted to the detriment of government proposals. On the other hand, it has been confirmed the strong rooting of the brand to his leader, Pablo Iglesias. [-]
