The Project that is going to be developed deals with the creation of a curricular
planning for students in their first year of Bachillerato, for the subject of Practical
English. The main characteristic of this curricular planning is that students will use the
European Language Portfolio for the achievement of the expected goals.
The modality chosen for the elaboration of this project is the third one:
Curricular Planning, which consists in the creation of a curricular planning with a
didactic unit of the contents being tackled.
The aim is to design several activities related to Journalism, and how we can use
this discipline to help the students with learning a foreign language. According to this
aim, we can also say that the five main skills are going to be trained: Listening,
Speaking, Reading, Writing and Interaction. Furthermore, the use of the European
Language Portfolio will benefit the attainment of the other main aim: helping the
students to become more autonomous.
The result has been a didactic unit of twenty-four sessions in which the students
will learn about Journalism using the English language as the only way of
communication: receiving and generating information. [-]
