Las mujeres pakistaníes residentes en Logroño viven bajo un sistema de dominación
sociocultural que permite afirmar -a la luz de la legislación vigente en España- que casi la
totalidad están afectadas por la violencia de género. En el artículo se recogen algunas de
las situaciones que viven, las consecuencias de algunas denuncias interpuestas así como
las lagunas que éstas han puesto en evidencia respecto al sistema de atención y protección
que la administración pública dispensa a estas mujeres. Las nuevas generaciones y algunas
mujeres líderes vienen apuntando algunos cambios que deberían ser apoyados además por
la sociedad de acogida y por la administración pública para caminar con mayor eficacia y
justicia hacia la erradicación de la violencia que tanto sufrimiento genera en este colectivo [-]

Pakistani women in Logroño live under a sociocultural system of domination which - in
the light of current Spanish legislation- suggests that the vast majority of them are victims
of domestic violence. The article details some of the conditions that they live under, the
consequences of some accusations they have made, as well as the inadequacy of the public
administration system to attend and protect these women. Younger people and some female
leaders have been suggesting changes, which should be supported by society and public
administration, to promote more efficiently and fairly the eradication of violence that causes
so much suffering in this community [-]
