The concept of Magic Realism has been an abstract genre since Franz Rho coined the term in 1920, after a group of painters needed it in order to describe their new style of painting. It is interesting to study the different perspectives related to one single term, because it has been creating confusion among artists since lots of theories arose as different writers have been investigating the concept. However, there is not a common agreement in order to define the artistic movement. The purpose of this work is to study the different perspectives that have been presented until the current times. Then, in order to complement the study two stories written by Angela Carter that can be found in her collection of stories “The Bloody Chamber” have been analysed. [-]
