Although the problem of teaching and learning vocabulary has seen a great development in
the past decades, in the contemporary context teaching vocabulary knowledge is still a
major challenge in all levels. The goal of this study is to deal with Teaching and Learning
English Vocabulary in the Spanish Context from two different points of view, first from a
theoretical point of view, and second from a practical one (by using two methods:
Vocabulary Survey and Kick Me Activity). The thesis presents the following key points:
(1) Problems encountered by teacher and students concerning vocabulary, (2) Acquisition
of vocabulary, (3) Teaching vocabulary, (4) Games, (5) Empirical Research on “Kick Me
Activity”, and finally (6) Conclusion and some tips for learning new vocabulary. [-]
