El miedo a morir: cómo afecta al castigo por la corrupción, estudio exploratorio

Abstract

La conciencia de la propia muerte es un problema que afecta los comportamientos que las personas puedan tener acerca de ella. Factores como la ansiedad o la agresividad parecen estar implicados dentro de esta cuestión y pueden ser claves para entender el porqué de este miedo a la muerte, a lo desconocido. Relacionado con la teoría de la gestión del terror, este trabajo pretende investigar una posibilidad que está basada en evidencias de otros estudios publicados acerca del tema. A través de una investigación experimental y con una muestra de 44 participantes, se quiere explorar la idea de porqué los seres humanos son más duros al castigar comportamientos que afectan a su cosmovisión cultural del mundo cuando la idea de muerte está presente dentro de su conciencia. La media de los participantes volcará su cifra a favor de este argumento, aunque no en su totalidad. Además se evaluarán factores como la propia autoestima, las emociones y la agresividad para observar si alguno de estos componentes está relacionado con el grado de castigo que los participantes imponen a las transgresiones, de lo cual se va a extraer que la variables de la autoestima se verá implicada en el castigo de las conductas delictivas mientras que el grado de agresividad y las emociones no colaborarán en la imposición de la pena

The conscience of the own death is a problem which affects people's behavior in their thoughts and their way to see the world. Apparently factors as anxiety and the aggressiveness seem to be related to that problema, and that can be the key to understand why people have fear of their own death and of the unknown things. In relation to the terror management theory, this project is aimed to investigate one possibility which is based on previous evidences of other studies about the same topic. Over that experimental investigation and with a sample of 44 participants. This study wants to explore the idea about why humans punish harder the behaviors which affects their worldview when the idea of their death is present in their consciousness. The average of the participants is going to be inclined in favour of the terror management theory but not in their totality. Moreover this study is going to assess aspects as the self-esteem, emotions and the aggressiveness to observe whether some of that components is related with the punishment. Only the self-esteem will be involved in the measures of the scourge. The aggressiveness and the emotions aren’t implicated in the infliction of the penalty.
