Thanks to the appearance of Internet a model of narrative creation
based on transmedia has emerged, in which the user has a main
role in the expansion of contents. One of the first Spanish TV series
that has been created in the recent years as a native transmedia
project is El Ministerio del Tiempo, broadcasted by TVE. Due to the
lack of Spanish case studies of this type, the objective of this
investigation is to clarify the extent of this fiction’s narrative world
and how it has been implemented, as well as predicting how it could
continue expanding in the future. Following that aim, a narrative and
semiotic analysis of the narrative universe has been done. The
results show that the calls to action to the viewers and the constant
interaction with him, used in the series and in their social media
channels, has led to a crucial phenomenon for its success. [-]
