RAYOSPECTIVA, reinterpretant Man Ray

Abstract

Exposició-instal·lació interactiva que mostra la vida i obra de l’autor nordamericà Emmanuel Radnitzky, popularment conegut com Man Ray, de forma retrospectiva i reinterpretativa, amb conceptes personals i empàtics d’unió entre l’artista i nosaltres però també amb una intencionalitat d’us docent i d’investigació, ja que s’endinsa en gustos, aficions i relacions personals amb altres autors contemporanis, al mateix temps que reinterpreta algunes de les seves obres. L’exposició consta d’una classificació de més de 3000 fotografies digitals, dues peces de videoart, quatre peces ready-made, cartelleria explicativa i descriptiva de les obres i un espai dedicat al joc dels escacs. En la instal·lació s’utilitzen el vídeo i la pantalla de l’ordinador com a components centrals, en un espai on les noves tecnologies prenen el control. Aquestes permeten que, mitjançant la projecció de dues peces de videoart, s’independitze la imatge en moviment del suport del monitor, mentre que en canvi, les fotografies passen del clàssic suport físic al digital, en un procés invers al del vídeo, centralitzant la informació visual al monitor. Un dels objectes dadà de Man Ray, l’obra “Objecte Indestructible” és la peça clau de l’exposició, vertebra i uneix uns suports amb altres, relacionant la imatge videogràfica amb altres objectes i materials, que, ocupant un lloc específic, permeten que l’espectador recórrega un espai on s’integren diferents elements visuals, reinterpretatius, empatitzats i biogràfics de les diferents etapes artístiques i personals de Man Ray, relacionats entre si i entre les nostres creacions. L’exposició consta de tres espais, el primer presenta vuit ordinadors on apareixen les classificacions d’imatges i vídeos de la seva vida i obra; la segona consta de les dues peces de videoart que es projecten amb constant repetició en una de les parets de la galeria i finalment el tercer dels espais està format per una sèrie de ready-mades basats en els objectes dadà de l’autor que més pròxims i personals eren a nosaltres. L’ordre i sentit de l’exposició està orientat de forma cronològica mitjançant la galeria fotogràfica, que recull així tot el material classificat i marcat en quatre parts, les quatre parts corresponents a les quatre etapes en les quals he classificat l’obra de l’autor basant-me en la seva autobiografia: Nova York 1989- 1921, França 1921-1940, Hollywood 1940-1951 i França 1951-1976.

Interactive Exhibition-Installation who shows the life and work of the northAmerican author Emmanuel Radnitzky, popularly know as Man Ray, in a retrospective and re-interpretative way, with concepts of empathy and personal connection between the artist and us, but also with an intention of use it in teaching and research, as it explores the tastes, hobbies and personal relationships with other contemporary authors, while reinterpreting some of his works. The exhibition consists of a listing of over 3000 digital photos, two pieces of video art projected, ready-made objects, descriptive and explanatory signages works and a space dedicated to the chess game. Video and computer screen is used in the installation as central components in a space where new technologies take over the control. These allows, by projecting two pieces of video art, moving images be independent of the monitor support while however, photographs become than the classical support physical to the digital, a process of reverse video, centralizing visual information to the monitor. One of the Dadaist objects of Man Ray's work "Indestructible Object" is the key of exhibition, who backbone and connect this with some other media, relating the video image with other objects and materials, which occupy a specific place, allowing the viewer a space journey which integrates different visual elements, interrelated among my creations, re-interpretatives, empatitzants, biographical and artistic stages of the artistic and personal life of Man Ray. The exhibition consists of three areas, the first has eight computers were there are classifications of pictures and videos of his life and work; the second, consists of two pieces of video art projected with a constant repetition at the walls of the gallery spaces and finally the third is formed by a serial of readymade objects based on the author dada closest and more personal to us. The order and meaning of the exhibition focuses on chronologically through the photo gallery, which includes all the material classified and marked on four sides, the four parts corresponding with the four stages in which I rated the work of author basing myself in his autobiography: New York 1989-1921, France 1921-1940, 1940-1951 Hollywood and France 1951-1976
