This work wants to make public the separating effects from national identities in some European students and to improve in the activation of one identity more inclusive by using Participatory Action Research (PAR) methodology. In order to do that, we have made operative social identity through the analysis of the national stereotypes using “checklist” (Katz & Brally, 1933) as a measurement. The results show that the stereotypes change depending on the different nationalities. It means that, for example, it is awarded colder adjectives (i.e. individualistic and argumentative) to British and Romanian whereas it is awarded hotter adjectives (i.e. pleasure-loving and happy) to Spanish and Italian. After measuring the stereotypes, we have used the technique of participative video in a neighbourhood in risk of exclusion from Castelló to observe the changes got after the IAP methodology. The behaviour observed among between the students and from these to the neighbours and the resulting video show that we have got a big progress in the reduction of the identity barriers. The result of that is the improvement of the intercultural and multi-ethnic relationships. [-]
