In the period from 1986 to 1988, following the closure of her Cinematógrafo, today recognized as irreplaceable, Yaiza Borges undertook the production of four short films for the TVEC programme Cine Canario, an initiative due to the then head of programming of this TV channel, Javier Jordán, which unfortunately did not have a continuity (if it had had continuity, the desired infrastructure for making films in the Canary Islands could have been a reality today, besides the qualitative level of the technicians that could have been trained and the productions that could have been carried out there). These four films are, chronologically El fotógrafo (Luis Sánchez-Gijón), Último acto (Francisco J. Gómez), Iballa (Josep Vilageliú) and Apartamento 23- F (Aurelio Carnero). To them should be added, due to the date of production and the similarity of equipment, though it was not included within the programme in question, Álvaro, mi niño (Aurelio Carnero and Francisco J. Gómez). [-]
