El empoderamiento de Marina Abramović: una perspectiva de género sobre su obra

Abstract

Este Trabajo Fin de Grado se centra en la figura de Marina Abramović, artista nacida Serbia cuya trayectoria creativa se nutre de numerosas y muy distintas disciplinas, desde fotografía a pintura pasando por películas de corto y largo metraje y, muy especialmente, performances. No hay muchas artistas de su generación que sigan realizando esta actividad. Abramović, sin embargo, no ha dejado nunca de trabajar para, por y en ella. Debido a su larga trayectoria, a su lucha por el reconocimiento de este medio de expresión y a la gran originalidad de sus obras performativas, es hoy internacionalmente reconocida. En sus obras utiliza su cuerpo como si fuera el pincel. A través de él nos ofrece toda la información que quiere que captemos. Desde la perspectiva de género, sus performances son una reflexión sobre la igualdad, así como, desde otros puntos de vista, lo son también sobre cuestiones de raza y clase social. El movimiento feminista fue un gran protagonista en los inicios de las performances. En este trabajo conoceremos a distintas artistas que las practicaron, pero sobre todo analizaremos el legado de Marina Abramović.

This Bachelor final project is focused on the figure of Marina Abramović, an artist born Serbia whose creative career is nurtured by many and very different disciplines, from photography to painting, going through short and long films and, most especially, performances. There are not many artists of her generation who still continue doing this activity. Abramović, however, has never stop working for and on it. Due to her long career, her fight for the acknowledgment of this medium of expression and the great originality of her performative works, she is internationally recognized today. In her works she uses her body as if it was a brush. Through it, she offers us all the information she wants us to understand. From the perspective of gender, her performances are a reflexion of equality, just as, from other points of view, they are also about race and social class. The feminist movement was a great main character at the beginning of the performances. In this project we will get to know different artists who practiced them, but above all we will analyze the legacy of Marina Abramović.
