The video has become a key piece for journalistic information in recent years given the high ease of production and especially of distribution through social networks. The consumption of information increasingly higher and faster has led the videos of short duration, in this investigation called microvideos. Its appearance is essentially linked to a change in the journalistic model based on digital, transmedia and related to social networks. The methodology used combines quantitative analysis and metric analysis in order to work with a certain number of pieces and know what is the impact on the social network Facebook. In total, up to 180 microvideos of the newspapers El País, La Vanguardia and Periódico Mediterráneo are analyzed in a period of three months between October and December of 2017. The main objective of the investigation is to know the uses and functions of the videos and analyze the structural elements and the repercussion they generate in the social network Facebook too. The results confirm that the information function is the most used by the three means in their parts and that is often mixed with the evaluation. This factor of digital journalism and technological convergence also affects the video units analyzed. Regarding the topics covered, the local theme, the political issue and the subject science and technology are positioned as the most recurrent, leaving in the last positions others as events, culture and spectacles or economy. The most used images have a professional quality, although videos and user photos are also included. As regards the interaction, it is proven that microvideos have access to a large number of users, since on this occasion they accumulate a total of 80,540,547 reproductions. Finally, add that in general, 180 microvideos accumulate positive reactions, since "I like" and "I love" they add 81.7% of the reactions.ca_CA
