It has been observed that patients with an impaired temporal lobe (TL) who undergo surgery suffer the risk of developing postsurgical amnesia . Reliable protocols to assess individual autobiographical memories (AM) are yet to be designed . For this reason, this research study provides a pilot protocol for individual AM mapping, based on autobiographical memories of each specific patient, applicable to presurgical patients . Results show hippocampal activation differences among patients . Overall, a higher hippocampal activation was observed when patients evoked recent irrelevant autobiographical events compared to older, but significant, autobiographic eventsca_CA
