been
observed
that
patients
with
an
impaired
temporal
lobe
(TL)
who
undergo
surgery
suffer
the
risk
of
developing
postsurgical
amnesia
.
Reliable
protocols
to
assess
individual
autobiographical
memories
(AM)
are
yet
to
be
designed
.
For
this
reason,
this
research
study
provides
a
pilot
protocol
for
individual
AM
mapping,
based
on
autobiographical
memories
of
each
specific
patient,
applicable
to
presurgical
patients
.
Results
show
hippocampal
activation
differences
among
patients
.
Overall,
a
higher
hippocampal
activation
was
observed
when
patients
evoked
recent
irrelevant
autobiographical
events
compared
to
older,
but
significant,
autobiographic
events [-]
