Influencia de la regulación emocional parental en la desregulación emocional de sus hijos

Abstract

The emotional regulation makes part of the main subject throughout th is study. During recent times, parenthood emotional dysregulation and the influence on their children’s development is being receiving huge attention on the empirical study field. 4 However, the lack of research on the matter and its explanation, highlights the importance of dealing with it. Through this investigation we expose the parenthood emotional regulation as a key factor on children’s emotional dysregulation as an important issue affecting their behavior problems. The objective of this research is to analyze the relation between parenthood emotional regulation , the depressive symptomatology, the children’s emotional regulation and their behavior problems. There for, we have conducted an evaluation wit hin 36 parents and 36 children. To achieve the best test results, we have used four questionnaires: Difficulties in Em otional Regulation Scale (DERS), Emotional Regulation Checklist (ERC), Beck II Depression Inventory (BDI II) and Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL). The obtained data from the study is been e valuated with bivariate correlations. The results reveal the existence of relationship between some scales (r=.465 and r=.360; p<.005), partially confirming the suggested hypothesis. Besides, we can observe significant amount of correlations between emotio nal parenthood dysregulation and child behavior problems (r=.767 and r=.657; p<.005) and between child emotional dysregulation and their behavior problems (r=.707 <001). This results, are a proving evidence of the necessity of further research on the matte r which seems to be a focal point on infancy’s vulnerability.

La regulación emocional se sitúa como tema central en el desarrollo de este estudio. En los últimos tiempos, la desregulación emocional parental y s u influencia en el desarrollo normativo de los niños , está recibiendo una gran acogida en el ámbito empírico. Sin embargo, la escasez de investigaciones que reflejen es t a relación y la falta de ex plicación par a la misma, pone de manifiesto su importancia . En este trabajo , se expone la regulación emocional parental como un factor clave explicativo de la desregulación emoc ional infantil. En concreto, se sugiere que las dificultades en la regulación e mocional parental podrían estar asociadas a la desregulación emocional infantil y a los problemas de co n ducta. El objetivo de esta investigación es an alizar la relación en tre la r egulación emocional parental, la sintomatología depresiva, l a regulación emoc ional en la infancia y los problemas de conducta. Para ello se ha contado con una muestra formada por 36 padres y madres y 36 niños. Para realizar las evaluaciones se han utilizado cuatro cuestionarios: Escala de dificultades en la regulación emocional (DE RS), Emotional Regulation Checklist (ERC), Inventario de Depresión de Beck II (BDI II) y el Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL). Los datos recogidos mediante los cuestionarios fueron evaluados mediante correlaciones bivariadas. Los resultados obtenidos revelar on la existencia de correlación positiva entre algunas subescalas (r=.465 y r=.360; p<.005), confirmándose parcialmente la hipótesis planteada. Además se observaron correlaciones significativas entre la desregulación emocional parental y los problemas de c onducta en los niños (r=.767 y r=.657 <.005) , as í como, entre la desregulación emocional infantil y los problemas de conducta (r=.707 <001). Esto s resultados, revelan la necesidad de realizar mayores estudios que indaguen una cuestión que parece ser foco central de vulnerabilidad en la infancia.
