Fenómeno mafioso:crimen organizado y la Cosa Nostra

Abstract

Una de las mayores lacras para una sociedad es que no tenga las instituciones o gobernantes totalmente motivados para impartir justicia, regir, dar estabilidad y prosperidad o defender a sus ciudadanos. Otra desgracia terrible, es que debido a esta sociedad sin ley, aprovechándose de la ingobernabilidad y en base a las tradiciones y valores, una serie de hombres se erijan como "autoridad" haciendo justicia en base al honor. Eran los capos de familia, los que tenían poder y respeto, los que eran encargados de dirimir el porvenir de los pueblos, de las familias, de los negocios, de la vida… en general de todo cuanto se movía en la isla. Siendo el honor tan fácil de quebrantar, y habiendo muchas batallas por librar, era necesario acumular cuantos más miembros a la causa. Así nacen las familias de mafia, llegando a identificarse los unos con los otros, formando grupos de una fuerte unión no solo física o armamentisticamente, sino fuertes en su ideología e identidad, con la motivación de un objetivo común a conseguir. Para la consecución del mismo, se forma una estructura de grupo, con unos roles determinados, engrasado como una máquina perfecta para atemorizar y destruir. La agresividad latente, como arma de defensa, dio paso a una violencia indescriptible entre las familias mafiosas. Eran tan terribles entre ellos, que decidieron unirse, formando La Cupola, para aunar esfuerzos y no dañarse más mutuamente. El fenómeno mafioso extendió sus tentáculos por más de un siglo sobre Sicilia, hasta que la sociedad dijo basta.

One of the biggest blights for a society is when this doesn't have the institutions or governors totally motivated to impart justice, to rule, to give stability and prosperity or defend their citizens. Another terrible misfortune is that due to this lawless society, taking advantage of ungovernability and based on traditions and values, some men stand as "authority" making justice on the basis of honor. They were the family bosses, those who had power and respect, who were in charge of resolving the future of the people, of families, of business, of life ... in general of everything that moved on the island. Being the honor so easy to break, and having many battles to fight, it was necessary to accumulate as many members to the cause. This is how mafia families were born, coming to identify with each other, forming groups of a strong union not only physically or military but strong in their ideology and identity, with the motivation of a common goal to achieve. For the achievement of it, a group structure is formed, with certain roles, greased as a perfect machine to frighten and destroy. The latent aggressiveness, as a defense weapon, gave way to an indescribable violence among the mafia families. They were so terrible among them, that they decided to join, forming La Cupola, joining forces and not to hurt each other anymore. The mafia phenomenon spread its tentacles for more than a century on Sicily, until society said enough.
