dc.description.abstractSome important concepts will be introduced on quantum chemistry such as symmetry labels of molecular states by dwelling on the “particle in a box” model. The mathematical models introduced allow understanding orthogonality relationships, expansion of an orbital in a complete set of basis functions, perturbation theory of nondegenerate energy levels, and transition probabilities with some attention to selection rules.
