Seguridad del paciente en el contexto de urgencias del Hospital de Sagunto

Abstract

Introduction: The emergency service is an open and changing service that acts quickly to cover the urgency that is defined as the appearance of a problem of diverse etiology and variable severity that needs immediate attention. Objective: To evaluate the safety culture of the patient in the emergency service of the Sagunto Hospital. Material and method: This is an epidemiological study of an observational nature, of a descriptive and transversal nature. The questionnaire on safety culture in the hospital setting of the AHRQ was adapted to our language and context. For the characteristics of the service, 52 questions grouped into a total of 12 dimensions were used. Results: Our study starts from a total population (N = 29) of nurses belonging to the service. The sample si ze, after meeting inclusion criteria, was 22 nurses (n = 22). Of the total, 21 responses were obtained with a compliance rate of 95.45%. Of this, 95.23% were women and 4.76% were men. Conclusions: The importance of patient culture through the use of guidel ines and standardized protocols. The importance from the management of policies of efficient and rational management of human resources adjusting personnel ratios to the demanding population. And finally, to encourage people to speak freely about the error s that occur without fear of consequences, fostering good communication between professionals of the same and other services.

Introducción: El Servicio de U rgencias es un servicio abierto y cambiante que actúa rá pidamente para cubrir la urgencia que se define como la aparición de un problema de etiología diversa y gravedad variable y que necesita una atención inmediata. Objetivo : Evaluar la cultura d e seguridad del paciente en el Servicio de U rgencias del Hospital de Sagunto . Material y método: Se trata de un e studio epidemiol ógico de carácter observacional , de tipo descriptivo y transversal . S e utilizó el cuestionario sobre cultura de seguridad en el ámbito hospitalario de la AHRQ adaptado a nuestro idioma y contexto. Por las características del servicio fueron utilizadas 52 preguntas agrupadas en un total de 12 dimensiones. Resultados: Nuestro estudio parte de una población total (N=29) de enfermeros pertenecientes al servicio. El tamaño de la muestra, tras cumplir cr iterios de inclusión fue de 22 enfermeros (n=22). Del total , se obtuvieron 21 respuestas con una tasa de cumplimiento del 95,45%. De esta, el 95,23% fueron mujeres y el 4,76% hombres. Conclusiones: La importancia de la cultura del paciente mediante la ut ilización de guías y protocolos normalizados. La importancia desde la gerencia de políticas de gestión eficiente y racional de recursos humanos ajustando ratios de pers onal a la población demandante. Y por último, promover a que se hable libremente de los errores que ocurren sin temor a las consecuencias fomentando una buena comunicación entre los profesionales del mismo y otros servicios.
