During the last quarter century, the world in which we live has changed a lot,
it differs in things such as the way in which we communicate or how we go
shopping due to the digital era. In contrast, the educational system does not evolve
as the same rhythm as other aspects of our life.
The language acquisition methodology has also evolved but these changes
have not been totally introduced in the classroom. There are some teachers that do
not incorporate digital resources as an important part of the way that they teach,
and others only use these digital resources when they finish their session and they
have more classroom time.
This project tries to show why ICTs (Information and Communication
Technologies) should play an important role in the language learning field and how
to apply it during the English sessions. To do that, we will focus on the concept of
digital PLEs and the Web2.0. We explain the variables that teachers should
consider to introduce digital resources in their teaching practice. Finally, we show
briefly our project, a website that includes different resources to help 3rd ESO
English teachers and students and to facilitate them the construction of their own
PLE. [-]
