| ca_CA |
dc.description.abstract | The lack of resources of traditional media and the danger of the Syrian conflict has forced citizens to be the protagonists in the communicative process of this war. That is why they have created traditional citizen media from the opportunities offered by new technologies and Internet access. This paper analyzes the citizen platforms that emerged in the conflict in Syria. It is a content analysis to identify their functions, the use of audiovisual pieces and informational sources. The platforms selected for this research are: Bellingcat, Local Coordination Committes of Syria, Syrian Observatory for Human Rights and Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silenty. In total, 60 pieces have been analyzed, which have made it possible to identify that the main functions of these platforms are to inform and monitor / identify. On the one hand, the use of a photograph to document this information is the typology that predominates the most. On the other hand, in the investigation of information sources, two tendencies predominate: platforms name themselves as sources of information and, moreover, regarding the function of identifying and monitoring, they use a great variety of sources (more than five). | ca_CA |
