dc.description.abstract | The Internet has transformed the communicative landscape. Social networks pose a new scenario where politicians and journalists can obtain different benefits to exercise their functions in the public sphere. This research study focuses on the use that politicians and journalists make of Twitter as a communication tool, which actors they interact with, and and how their relationships are affected in the context of a terrorist attack. To this end, a content analysis has been carried out on the accounts of five politicians and five journalists, from May 3rd, 2017 to June 8th, 2017, with the objective of studying the informative coverage of the terrorist attacks of May 22nd, 2017, during a concert at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, and on June 3rd, 2017, at the London Bridge and Borough Market in London. The results indicate that politicians and journalists don't exploit this microblogging platform to its full potential. Political actors spread their ideology, agenda and party activity. For their part, journalists promote and distribute their contents. In addition, the scenario of terrorist attack doesn't increase the interactions between both actors. In fact, the dialogue is almost non-existent. | ca_CA |
| ca_CA |
