Dificultades de aprendizaje en matemáticas: intervención educativa a una alumna de primero de Primaria

Abstract

Este trabajo tiene como objetivo estudiar el caso de una alumna con dificultades de aprendizaje en matemáticas. Lo curioso de este caso es que hablamos de una alumna ejemplar, en cuanto a relaciones sociales y familiares se refiere, además de tener un comportamiento modélico en clase. Cabe añadir, que se trata de una alumna dispuesta a trabajar y con ganas de aprender, lo cual no cambia a pesar de sus dificultades en matemáticas. Otro dato a tener en cuenta, es que sus dificultades no abarcan todos los contenidos matemáticos, sino que se basan solamente en ciertos ámbitos, como son: la numeración, el sistema numérico arábigo, las operaciones lógicas y las operaciones con enunciado aritmético; lo que pudimos conocer gracias a la prueba de aplicación individual TEDI-MATH. Una vez conocidas en profundidad las dificultades de la alumna, es necesario diseñar un programa de intervención, basado en actividades cortas, motivadoras y variadas que ayuden a la alumna a mejorar sus dificultades. Es importante tener en cuenta a la hora de realizar las actividades, el hecho de empezar siempre por lo que el alumno ya conoce, e ir introduciendo paulatinamente los contenidos que queremos que consiga, para alcanzar un aprendizaje significativo y poder lograr los objetivos propuestos y que el alumno sea capaz de ver su progresión, evitando que se desmotive. Finalmente, y al haber terminado con la intervención, es imprescindible contrastar los resultados obtenidos al iniciar el caso práctico para ver su mejoría gracias a nuestra intervención.

The aim of this project is to study the case of a student with learning difficulties in mathematics. What makes this case unusual is that we are speaking about a model student, in terms of social and family relations, in addition to having an exemplary behaviour in class. It should be added that she is a student willing to work and eager to learn, which does not change despite her difficulties in mathematics. Another fact to consider is that her difficulties do not cover all the mathematical contents, they are only based in certain areas, such as: numeration, the Arabic numerical system, logical operations and operations with arithmetic formulation; which we could know thanks to the individual application test TEDI-MATH. Once the student's difficulties are well-known, it is necessary to design an intervention program based on short, motivating and varied activities that help the student to improve her difficulties. What is important to take into account when doing the activities is to start with what the student already knows, and gradually introduce the content that we want to achieve. In this way we will be able to achieve meaningful learning and the objectives proposed, so that the student will be able to see her progression, preventing her from being demotivated. Finally, and having finished with the intervention, it is essential to contrast the results obtained at the beginning of the practical case to see her improvement thanks to our intervention.
