dc.description.abstract | Thoracic pain is one of the most common symptoms in emergency rooms. About 12-15% of these are caused by an acute coronary syndrome, which can be classified in ST-elevated or non ST elevated myocardial infarction or unstable angina. Thus, the creation of a protocol which allows an early diagnosis and treatment of these potentially mortal entities, in which one of the main factors that ensure a favourable response to treatment is time, is necessary. This End of Degree Project consists in the creation of this protocol for the Emergency Service of the Hospital de la Plana by the searching of the latest bibliography about this topic and the posterior application to this service. In the protocol, the main characteristics of the thoracic pain which is related to acute coronary syndrome are exposed, as well as the most effective diagnostic tests for its identification and classification. General treatment and support measures for every acute coronary syndrome are also included, as well as the very specific treatment for each type of myocardial infarction, always keeping in mind the available resources in the mentioned hospital. | ca_CA |
| ca_CA |
