dc.description.abstractOver the last decades, Spanish has incorporated a large number of words from the English language. This could be attributed to globalization and the increasing influence of various aspects that Spanish society has adopted. The penetration of these words is particularly visible in the lexis used in the Spanish fashion industry. In this paper, the aim is to examine the influence that the English language has in the Spanish fashion industry, which can take the form of anglicisms and English words. We will analyse the different anglicisms found in various Spanish clothing stores’ websites in order to see the extent to which they affect our society and to determine whether or not Spanish society is aware of such anglicisms. The conclusions include the fact that these loanwords are extensively incorporated in the fashion jargon in Spain and how the Spanish society is not completely aware of them.ca_CA
