Las actitudes deportivas de los escolares valencianos (I)

Abstract

This study, as the great majority of studies in this country (even if overall they are not that many) is the result of a number of conversations among several individuals committed to a number of tasks that would later on become part of their professional life. The president of the Territorial Commission for Sports in Schools and director of this journal, Vicente Añó, contacted several psychologists involved in research activities in order to undertake a study that explored and determined, to the extent possible, both the opinions of school athletes and the psycho-social factors involved in the world of sports.

From the very beginning our aims and objectives were not ambitious. We were satisfied, for the time being, with having a first contact with the particular stance of reality under review (Valencian school athletes) and establishing a new working method where athletes, whatever their level, could be consulted, implementing the relevant technical, scientific and human resources available.
