Vasija con aplicación en relieve representando a una diosa procedente del yacimiento iberorromano de Torre d’Onda (Burriana, Castellón)

Abstract

En este trabajo se presenta el estudio arqueológico de una cerámica con relieve aplicado de terracota que representa un rostro femenino procedente de Torre d’Onda, yacimiento localizado en el litoral sur de Castellón (España). Se analizan precedentes iconográficos y materiales que comparten esta misma imagen. Con el propósito de precisar la originalidad de la iconografía se han buscado comparaciones con otros registros figurativos. En época iberorromana hubo una extendida representación de este tipo de terracotas sobre distintos soportes.

This paper presents the archaeological study of pottery applied Terracotta relief depicting a female face from the site of Torre d’Onda, located at the southern littoral of Castellón (Spain). We firstly analyse the iconographic precedents to later describe the bodies that share the same image. In order to clarify the originality of iconography we have looked at comparisons with other figurative records. In Ibero-Roman times there was a wide representation of the these terracotta on diverse artefacts.
