Reggio Emilia: una forma diferente de entender la Educación Infantil

Abstract

En el presente trabajo iniciaré un recorrido partiendo de la Escuela Nueva para centrarme en la pedagogía de Reggio Emilia. Tanto por lo beneficioso que es para la Educación Infantil, como por todo lo novedoso que conlleva este modelo. Trataré el origen y la propuesta pedagógica de Reggio Emilia para llegar a entender la teoría del aprendizaje en la que se basa y la metodología didáctica que utiliza para el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje en los niños. El enfoque educativo que tiene Reggio Emilia es una manera de concebir la educación que nace en una región de Italia, tras la II Guerra Mundial. Loris Malaguzzi fue considerado el impulsor y creador de esta pedagogía, la cual está basada en la escucha activa, entendida como la habilidad de comprender al niño en sus 100 lenguajes. La documentación es un aspecto muy importante, puesto que es una herramienta con la que se registra todo el proceso evolutivo del niño. En Reggio Emilia, el docente no es un autoritario ni un mero transmisor de información, sino la persona que acompaña al niño, un guía, y junto al que descubre. Otros aspectos importantes son el espacio y el ambiente, los cuales invitan al niño a crear y descubrir. Reggio Emilia es un lugar de investigación, aprendizaje y reflexión donde en todo momento se respetan los intereses y los ritmos de aprendizaje de cada niño.

The purpose of this work is to analyse Reggio Emilia's pedagogy on the basis of Escuela Nueva. Reggio Emilia's model stands out among others because of its contribution to pre-school education and changes that this model has introduced in education. The origin will be studied in order to understand the learning theory and the teaching methodology of Reggio Emilia's pedagogical approach in the process of teaching-learning of children. Reggio Emilia's educational approach is a way of understanding education which was born in a region of Italy after the Second World War. Loris Malaguzzi was considered the driving force and creator of this pedagogy, which is based in active listening, understood as the ability to understand the one hundred languages of children. Documentation is a very important aspect because is the tool that enables the registration of the evolving process of children. In Reggio Emilia's model the teacher is not authoritarian or a transmitter of information but the person that accompany the child ― his guide ― and with whom discovers. Other important aspects to consider are space and environment, which invite the child to create and discover. Reggio Emilia is a place for research, learning and reflection where interests and paces of learning of each child are respected in every moment.
