La Contra Armada Invisible frente a la Gran Armada Invencible

Abstract

El tema principal, que ocupa el desarrollo del presente trabajo de final de grado, se centra en la investigación y análisis comparativo sobre dos acontecimientos bélicos, y con características similares, acaecidos a finales del siglo XVI: La Gran Armada de 1588 y la Contra Armada de 1589. Las dos batallas navales forman parte inseparable de la historia por el poder de España e Inglaterra; es decir, por conseguir y/o salvaguardar la hegemonía en Europa. No obstante, y a pesar de la cercanía temporal de sendas contiendas, ambos enfrentamientos han tenido una dispar campaña propagandística. Por una parte se llevó a cabo un proceso de magnificación de la batalla puntual del 88 y, por otra, se practicó el ocultismo y el silencio del fracaso naval inglés del 89, que ha llevado a la invisibilidad un hecho histórico de tal manera que parece que nunca hubiera ocurrido.

The main theme that occupies the development of this work final degree, it focuses on research, and comparative analysis of two armed events, and similar features that occurred in the late sixteenth century: The Grand Army of 1588 and the Navy Against 1589. The two naval battles are an inseparable part of history by the power of Spain and England; namely to achieve and/or safeguard hegemony in Europe. However, and despite the temporal proximity of respective battles, both clashes have had a disparate propaganda campaign. On the one hand It was carried out, a process of magnification of the specific battle of the 88 and, secondly, the occult and the silence of the British naval defeat of the 89, which has led to the invisibility a historical fact in such a way it seems that never happened.
