Jaime I y Alfonso X : análisis del poder de la nobleza en la España del siglo XIII

Abstract

Tras la muerte de Pedro el Católico el 1213 el joven heredero Jaime empieza su instrucción como futuro monarca aragonés. Tras el periodo de regencia de Sancho de Aragón en 1218, Jaime es sacado del castillo de Monzón para ser rey. Pero no lo tendrá fácil, deberá imponerse a su propia nobleza antes de poder llevar a cabo sus empresas como monarca. Años mas tarde, el 1252, en Castilla es coronado rey Alfonso X. Durante su reinado y por culpa de sus políticas y de la debilidad de la monarquía deberá hacer frente a dos revueltas en el interior de su reino causadas por los nobles. Dos reyes entrelazados que abarcan casi un siglo de la historia de España y que tuvieron que hacer frente a una problemática común: hacer frente al poder que ostentaba la nobleza.
