El papel de la grafomotricidad como paso previo a la escritura

Abstract

La grafomotricidad es una disciplina que se encarga de desarrollar una serie de habilidades en los niños para prepararlos al aprendizaje de la escritura. Para ello, es necesario que previamente los niños experimenten diversas actividades como el garabato, el dibujo libre, la direccionalidad de los trazos y el juego gráfico. Todas ellas están encaminadas a establecer conexiones entre el ojo y la mano y a madurar los segmentos corporales. Una vez conseguidas estas capacidades, podrán evolucionar hacia la escritura de las grafías. Para facilitar la realización de los trazos, los niños tienen que coger el instrumento mediante el movimiento de pinza y situando los dedos en la parte interior del útil para evitar problemas de visualización. También es importante la presión, ya que debe haber un equilibrio entre la fuerza que se realiza sobre el instrumento y la que ejerce al realizar los trazos. Todos estos aspectos están encaminados a evitar posibles dificultades, pero aun así se pueden dar, como es el caso de la falta de ejercitación de las actividades anteriormente dichas, la lateralidad o la exigencia de rapidez. Algunas de estas cuestiones se pueden trabajar mediante la reeducación grafomotriz para fomentar la soltura de los dedos o la coordinación óculo-manual.
