La mediación intercultural y la formación de agentes de salud de base comunitaria. Estudio sobre el proyecto RIU

Abstract

Las diferencias a la hora de acceder a los programas de Salud Pública han dado lugar al nacimiento de la figura del agente de salud de base comunitaria, una de las más importantes en el mundo de la mediación intercultural y comunitaria hoy en día. En el presente trabajo hemos abordado la descripción de este rol (diferenciándolo del papel del intérprete y del mediador intercultural), así como las aportaciones teóricas realizadas hasta nuestros días. Asimismo, nos hemos adentrado en la estructura y en el funcionamiento de un proyecto de formación de agentes de salud, el Proyecto RIU (Comunitat Valenciana), y mediante encuestas realizadas a los agentes ya formados, nos hemos propuesto analizar la eficiencia de este proyecto a la hora de formar a los candidatos. Posteriormente, hemos plasmado nuestras impresiones en forma de posibles mejoras que podría adoptar el Proyecto RIU en sus próximas ediciones.

The differences that occur when entering Public Health initiatives have resulted in the figure of the community-based health care agent, one of the most important ones in the world of intercultural and community mediation nowadays. In this paper we have addressed the description of this role (settling the differences it has with the interpreter and the intercultural mediator), as well as the theoretical contributions that have been made to the present day. Furthermore, we have investigated the structure and the operation of a project that trains health care agents, the Proyecto RIU (Comunitat Valenciana) and, through surveys filled by those agents that have been trained, we have undertaken the analysis of the efficiency in this project when training the candidates. Later, we have set our impressions by means of possible improvements that the Proyecto RIU could follow in its next editions
