The world ceramic sector

Abstract

In the following study we will observe some important aspects that have been taken into account in the production process of ceramic. The aim is to put in situation to the reader through a brief summary of how is the sector currently and about the fluctuations that happened in these last years. As we all know, these took place due to the severe recession that we have passed has also beaten the ceramics sector. Moreover, it has been destabilized at the same time with its production system which had to restructured templates or even full business strategies. Afterwards, it has been considered to give importance to the process of the production which is the base of the whole ceramic sector, even though there are great differences between the old production processes and the current ones. In fact, this work will allow the reader to gain an overview, at the end of the text, about each of the phases of the production process. Once we known for certain how the ceramic production process works, the aim is to know about the most important ceramic cluster in the world, such as: the Chinese which is located in the District of Foshan; the Italian, located in the District of Sassoulo and as the Spanish one which is placed in the province of Castellón. This serves to compare the most relevant data at the general level of the three. Then, we will deepen the concept of innovation as well as in the existing typologies in order to analyse the major innovation that has occurred in the ceramic sector in the 21st century; the emergence of inkjet technology. In this regard, the reader has the opportunity to learn more about this innovation by analysing the process and the advantages emerged in this sector. What is more, in this paper you will find a brief description of two large companies that exists in the province of Castellón like Kerajet and Cretaprint.
